Injecting Some Autumn Goodness To My Wardrobe, Home & Dressing Table

Injecting Some Autumn Goodness To My Wardrobe, Home & Dressing Table

No, I know we’ve not quite reached the Autumn period yet but it flipping well feels like it. Right this moment I am wrapped in a blanket, with a candle burning and I’m about to make a hot chocolate.

I love this time of year because it’s starting to get darker, colder and I can get excited about Halloween, Bonfire Night & Christmas! (Not counting down or anything).

Like most other girls in the UK, I’ve been scouring the shops for all the burgundies and greens to stock my wardrobe for the coming season. So, I thought I would do a post on how I’m preparing myself for the crunchy leaved weather – my favourite part of autumn is the crunchy leaves.

So first and foremost, I want to talk about some beauty bits which are absolute essentials for Autumn.

Beauty

After receiving this baby for my Birthday in early August, the Naked Smoky Palette could not be more perfect for creating a shimmering icy look. I’m all about the silvers, greys and blacks so this palette is going to be PERFECT tag teamed with a dark lip and a bobble hat.

Along with silvery sultry lids, I also love to add a pop of green with the No7 Stay Perfect Amazing Eyes Pencil in Dark Green. It adds a metallic sheen of colour and looks fab with both blue and brown eyes.

One of my favourite lipsticks/creams to wear when it starts to get chilly is NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Copenhagen. It’s a dark red colour that looks just perfect with pale skin and a smoky eye for a gothic vampire look (my fave).

One of my recently rediscovered favourites is the Lady Gaga Fame perfume which has a dark, liquoricey scent, perfect for cold weather. I love how the scent lingers on my coat and scarf and I love getting a good whiff when the wind gushes past.

An absolute staple for me is lip balm because my lips get super sore and cracked as the cold creeps in. The EOS Pink Grapefruit balm is perfect because you can just pop it in your handbag and it tastes delicious! Although I am keeping my eye out for a Gingerbread one…

Clothing

One of the easiest seasonal transitions for me is Summer to Autumn, simply because some of my favourite colours are the darker, greens, reds and certainly grey.

There have also been a great deal of sales on lately where I’ve picked up quite a few summery pieces that can be worn even when it’s minus 5 outside.

Pictured: Levi’s Shaping Skinny Jeans, £35.00. Blue Mom Jeans, 7 Euros (From H&M in Palma, Spain)

I’ve bought these pairs of jeans quite recently and I haven’t yet had chance to wear them too much as it’s been humid AF.

I bagged these Levi’s bargains from Costco in August with some Birthday money and I am so glad I did! They’re usually double the price and they’re an absolute essential for nearly every person, man or woman. I love pairing black skinnies with some pretty heels for a night out, with Vans for a casual look or for work with some cute ankle boots. They’re so versatile and can be paired with almost anything.

The Mom jeans were absolute steal for only 7 Euros, about £6.30. I saw them when scouring through the sale racks and loving them. Luckily they had my size and that was that. I think they look great with slogan tees and Vans or Converse for a super casual and easy look. I’m also digging the distressed jean and fishnets look so maybe I’ll have to try that sometime too!

I’ve also bought a few chunky hoodies recently too which would look fab with these Mom jeans for when it gets a bit chillier.

Pictured: Jack Wills Pullover, £38.00. Stripey Superdry Jumper, £11.30(ish). Grey Vans Pullover £30.00

I’ve been more of a girly girl these past few years when it came to jumpers and cover ups with the usual knitted types. But, I’ve always been a fan of the skater look so the Vans hoodie and the Jack Wills hoodie will be perfect just to throw over a tshirt and jeans or to pop on when I’m just nipping out. They’re both fleecy inside and so, so cosy. I’ve had to pop them on on the odd occasion recently with the breezy mornings.

The stripey Superdry number was a sale buy and I couldn’t be happier! It has a chunky, cable knit feel and will be perfect to wear to work on a chilly morning with some trousers or jeans. Its also a light creamy colour with bold navy accents which make it easy to pair with both blue or black jeans too.

You might be noticing a colour theme here and it’s totally intentional… I just feel greens, red, greys and monochrome suit me well and they’re easy colours to mix and match.

The trio of skirts have been collated only recently with the green leather number being over a year old. Both the black cord and checkered print have been recent additions but perfect for the months to follow with chunky tights and boots.

The knitted jumper is one of many colours from New Look at such a good, affordable price rivalling even Primark. I have a few colours in this from previous years including a light grey and a dark green with a polo neck. It’s not too thick that you get sweaty but it’s perfect for those blustery mornings with a scarf.

This jacket is what my dreams are made of. Ever since seeing one of Barney’s girlfriends in How I Met Your Mother wearing one, I knew I needed to have one. After a few disasters and try ons, I knew this one was the perfect shade, fit and the amount of cosy. It’s soft, the pockets are the perfect size and it matches pretty much everything I own.

Home

Pictured: 2017-18 Academic Diary, Home Bargains, £1.99 9 (I think). Marble Notebook, Primark, £1.99. Black Cherry Large Yankee Candle Jar, Hallmark Outlet, £10. Plastic Skull Decoration, Wilko, 40p

If you know me, you’ll know I LAV skulls so Halloween is the perfect time of year to shop for some permanent home essentials for my bookcase or my fireplace. This little guy was bought home from the Wilko clearance shelf in November last year and I’ve cracked him back out for September and October this year.

My favourite scent in the whole wide world is the smell of sweet, sweet cherries and this candle satisfies all my smelling needs. I got this in a clearance outlet for only £10 and it’ll last me a bloody long time. The colour is perfect for Autumn and will sit proudly on my coffee table providing that atmospheric flame and delicious aroma. Well, at least until I crack my Christmas candles out.

Both the notebook and diary are going to be perfect for planning Christmas presents out, writing lists and scheduling in everything I’ve got planned. I’ve already booked a Harry Potter Afternoon Tea and visiting a scary maze with my bestie Jess for October. I’m a busy lady so this diary will help me keep organised and prepped for all my upcoming events.

Accessories & Shoes

Pictured: Grey Leather Zip Detail Vans, Schuh, £65. Grey Suedette Boots, Primark, £8. Black Faux Leather Ankle Boots, Asda, £20. Rose Detail Shoulder Bag, Primark, £6. Silver Kensington 40 Watch, Abbott Lyon, £99. Silver Hoop Earrings, Asda, £5 (part of set). Moon & Stars Chain, H Samuel, £19.99. Pandora Rings – £30-£50

Shoes are one of the most important things when it comes to my outfits and these three tie everything together perfectly. The black boots are from last year but they’re simple, timeless chelsea boots that are great when it’s rainy and I have to walk to work. The grey suede boots were an impulse buy but I can’t wait to pair them with tights, skirts and dresses for that pop of colour and class. My Vans were a birthday present and look fab for a casual look of jeans and a slogan tee – however they’ll transition great into Autumn and Winter. They’re non-slip, waterproof, comfy and great for them endless hours of Christmas shopping.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Gold jewellery but Silver? I’m down for that. I love wearing wooly hats with curly hair and silver hoops poking through – sass central! This necklace is quite wintery and fulfills my love of all things interstellar whilst also being simple and adding a pop of light to dark outfits. A nice watch is an essential for any look and this one looks great for work. going out and everyday – it’s actually replaced my classic Casio!

This bag was bought with a purpose of a going out bag and adds some warmth to a look with ease. I like to pair this with a red lip and silver jewellery to compliment the studs. It’s the perfect size for my purse, keys, phone, lippy and a mini mirror; all you could need on a night or day out.

So there we have it, my rather hefty collection of items and products which will see me through the Autumn period into Winter. I’m sure I’ll pick up a heck load more as the seasons change so I’ll be sure to keep you updated!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed reading this LONG ASS post.
